Lifestyles of the laptop café has held a long existance in my music collection, but despite that it has always been in the back of my mind [but never forgotten]. And it shouldn’t be. Created by the other half of Drexciya, yet despite being 7 year’s since it’s release, this album has always held it’s own and everytime I listen I rack my brain trying to think how I could take such an excellent album for granted.
After the opening track ‘Eye Contact’, the following tracks just seem to meld into one creating a seemless 50 minutes of bliss. You don’t even need to think what track is up next. Each track is full of warm synths and samples that perfectly match the classic beats and atmospherics.
The beauty of this album is the fact that it doesn’t try too hard to be different, it doesn’t go out of it’s way to make you think about it or feel that one track is better than another due to differences in style. Instead it pushes itself to make the listener comfortable and relaxed. It’s pulled off so perfectly and is such a welcome change that you never really find that with many other albums or even singles.
An unforgettable album that you’ll have etched to your brain for weeks. It just a shame that we’ll never hear any more. James Marcel Stinson (The Other People Place and other half of Drexciya) had died a year after the release of this album.

I couldn’t agree more mate.
I’ve had this album on in the background while entertaining non-electronic music folks on many occassions and they, without fail, comment on it beauty and coolness (or should that be warmth!)of it.
Its a timeless classic and will remain so for centuries. Transcendent.
