Dubstep is always going to be one of those genres that you either love or hate. It’s the Marmite of the current music world so to speak. One of it’s main complaints is that it’s too slow and never dance worthy. But is that really what music should be about? I wouldn’t consider it so. Many times I’ve listened to a piece of music that I’ve loved, chilled with and never been able to dance along. Dancing and music never always need to go hand-in-hand with each other.

Lifestyles of the laptop café has held a long existance in my music collection, but despite that it has always been in the back of my mind [but never forgotten]. And it shouldn’t be. Created by the other half of Drexciya, yet despite being 7 year’s since it’s release, this album has always held it’s own and everytime I listen I rack my brain trying to think how I could take such an excellent album for granted.

Freya (my 6 month old cat) went into the vet’s to get spayed today. A few minutes ago Claire and I went to pick her up and to our surprise we find she is now sporting a lovely new lamp shade around her neck. Of course this is going to provide hours of fun for the household, but right now Freya is just sat around feeling sorry for herself and trying to eat with her new accessory in the way.

Justice - Stress
1 Comment May 8th, 2008

Director Romain Gavras has out done himself with the music video of Stress by Justice. The video is a controversial depiction of youth gang culture in Western Europe. Gavaras has taken the video to some harsh lengths showing various vicious attacks and thefts in a brilliant documentary-esque performance.
